Jawdroppingly talented and beautiful to boot, mega-star Céline Dion has a voice that moves mountains. And her mini-mountains ain’t bad, either! The youngest of fourteen (fourteen!) children growing up in poverty in Canada, Céline showed enormous skill as a singer thanks to her big, fully-fledged voice that she has owned since she was a fledgling. Manager René Angélil discovered her at twelve and reportedly mortgaged his home to finance her career. After becoming an instant sensation in her native Quebec, she learned English and launched a career in the Anglophone market. Multi-platinum superstardom followed, with tracks like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Because You Loved Me,” and the inescapable “My Heart Will Go On” from the movie Titanic (1997), and Angélil’s initial investment was returned—with interest, since he and Céline married in 1994 (They remained married until his death in 2016). But many don’t realize that for a brief period in the 1990s, the Canuck cutie tried her hand at acting—with some very bare results! In 1991 the fragile, birdlike beauty appeared in the mini-series Des fleurs sur la neige (Flowers on the Snow) and showed some nippage in a tub. Way to butter our baguette, Céline! This is the only entry in her skinematography and one of the only entries in her filmography. Her other screen credits include The Nanny, Quest for Camelot (1998), Touched by an Angel, All My Children, and, more recently, Muppets Most Wanted (2014). It’s a safe bet that Céline won’t be getting naked for an acting role anytime soon.
